Rest

Matthew 11

28. Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart and you will find rest for your souls.

30. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.

"Rest" and "holidays"  are two words that are not usually combined.

I think that is Jesus' point in these verses though. For many, the holidays are a burden: presents to buy and wrap, food to prepare, dealing with family. This is exactly when Jesus instructs us to come to Him.

Jesus understands stress, He walked in human form. And He offers relief, if we just come to Him. Not another "thing to do," but a relationship to truly rest in.
