I’m currently studying the book of Revelation. This book used to scare me with the vivid descriptions of doom and destruction. But I have come to understand that chapters 4-22 describe the period known as the Tribulation, which, as believers in Christ, we will not undergo. As believers, we will ascend to heaven at the Rapture before the Tribulation.

Studying the terrifying events to come spurs me to greater urgency to share the gospel. Every day I must focus on opportunities, which, honestly, is intimidating. Somehow, telling someone of Christ’s redeeming love is easier with strangers than with family and close friends.

Now is the time to study your Bible and pray every day. Consider asking someone to be your prayer partner. This is a person not traveling with the team with whom you can share your highs and lows now, during travel, and upon returning. And there will be highs and lows, so don’t be surprised. Remember, Grace Bible Church has sent a short-term mission team to the Dominican Republic 14 times!
