94 days till we leave for the Dominican Republic

1 Peter 3

15. But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence; 

16. and keep a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ will be to shame.

17. For it is better, if God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong.

18. For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit. 

As we continue with preparations for travel in January, let us keep the reason we are going at the forefront of our hearts and minds. That we simply have made the effort to come to the Dominican Republic to serve is a visible part of our testimony. But do not let it stop there. 

Please think about your testimony: how you were, how accepting Christ's love and forgiveness has changed you, how your life is different now.

Sometimes thinking this through can help you to focus.  It is not necessary for you to share this but it is powerful if you do.  Please also consider attending tyhe evangelism training on November 18 at 9am which will be "Sharing Your Testimony". 

Your first step may be to share with other team members, remember we are all imperfect but in this together.  We are a team with God at the center. 

Then consider sharing with the Guesthouse and Dominican staff. 

Please don't sweat the language barrier! We will always have Dominican translators with us.
